The Dahlia Festival Returns to Spokane This Fall
One of the most memorable events I attended last year is making its return to Spokane this September 20 and 21: the Dahlia Festival at Rosarium Garden Center. It’s a can’t-miss celebration of flowers, community, and creativity—and the best part? Admission is completely free.
When I went last year, my best friend and I stopped by on a whim and ended up spending hours enjoying ourselves. Between the rows of vendors, the abundance of colorful flowers, and the glasses of wine we happily sipped, it turned into one of those perfect Spokane afternoons. The energy was lively, welcoming, and the kind of fun you don’t want to end.
This year’s Dahlia Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at 9405 S. Williams Lane in Spokane. The schedule is packed with activities for every interest. On Saturday, you can catch free presentations on dahlia care and beekeeping, as well as creative pumpkin classes for kids and adults. Sunday’s lineup includes dahlia hybridizing, fall centerpiece workshops, and more opportunities to get hands-on with floral design.
Some of the classes require tickets in advance, like the pumpkin and centerpiece workshops, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead. Spots fill quickly, and they’re worth it if you’re interested in getting creative with seasonal arrangements. To reserve your place, head over to rosariumgardencenter.com.
Events like the Dahlia Festival are what make Spokane so special. They bring people together, highlight local growers and makers, and turn a regular weekend into something memorable. If you’re looking for a free, family-friendly, and unforgettable fall outing, the Dahlia Festival is the perfect place to spend a day surrounded by beauty.
