A New Yarn Shop on the South Hill: Twisted Stitch Yarn

If you’ve been missing JOANN’s and are still on the hunt for a new yarn shop, you’re in luck—there’s a new spot right here on the South Hill. Even better, it’s located right next door to a neighborhood favorite, Rockwood Bakery.

Twisted Stitch Yarn opened just a few weeks ago and is already building a strong community. When I stopped by on a Saturday, their open knit and crochet room was buzzing with conversation and creativity, filled with locals working on projects together. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to finally learn to knit or pick up your crochet hooks again.

Accessibility is clearly important here. The shop is ADA accessible from the back, and they’ve made it easy to visit with three dedicated parking spots behind the building—a thoughtful touch if the street parking is full.

Even more exciting, lessons will be starting this fall, so whether you’re brand new or looking to sharpen your skills, there will be opportunities to learn in a supportive, community-driven environment.

You can find Twisted Stitch Yarn at 307 E 18th Ave. Their hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 11 AM to 4 PM.
