Treasures of the Spokane
South Hill & Beyond
Offof29th isn’t just a platform, it’s a little piece of my heart. It’s where I get to share the places I come from, the community I’ve landed in, and all the things that make our South Hill (and beyond!) shine.
I’m all about highlighting small local businesses, yummy restaurants, outdoor adventures, community events, and everything else that makes this corner of Spokane so vibrant + unique. Thanks for hanging out here and being part of the story.
Hi, I’m Kasey! The gal behind Off of 29th
I launched Offof29th in September 2022, and can’t believe I’m already celebrating three years in business this year! Originally from Colfax, I made my way to Cheney for six years (go Eags! 🎓) where I earned both my undergrad and graduate degrees at EWU, before landing on Spokane’s South Hill in 2020 and calling it home ever since.
When I'm not working, you can find me hitting the slopes up at Schweitzer Mountain, exploring local lakes by paddleboard, competing for last place in trivia nights with friends, and cheering on the Cougs and Eags!

A New Yarn Shop on the South Hill: Twisted Stitch Yarn
If you’ve been missing JOANN’s and are still on the hunt for a new yarn shop, you’re in luck, there’s a new spot right here on the South Hill. Even better, it’s located right next door to a neighborhood favorite, Rockwood Bakery.
Twisted Stitch Yarn opened just a few months ago and is already building a strong community. When I stopped by on a Saturday, their open knit and crochet room was buzzing with conversation and creativity, filled with locals working on projects together. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to finally learn to knit or pick up your crochet hooks again.
Accessibility is clearly important here. The shop is ADA accessible from the back, and they’ve made it easy to visit with three dedicated parking spots behind the building.
Even more exciting, lessons will be continuing in the new year, so whether you’re brand new or looking to sharpen your skills, there will be opportunities to learn in a supportive, community-driven environment. You can find Twisted Stitch Yarn at 307 E 18th Ave. Their hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 11 AM to 4 PM.
